These two ugly sisters, once welcomed to your heart, fed and nourished will turn into monsters. It will murder kindness, birth isolation, and indeference and judgement towards others and create a personae for the person they have a grudge on. When we do not fully forgive those who have hurt us, and only by the grace of God can we do that, it will manifest in our daily lives and walk with God. Do not let the sun down unless you have forgiven your brother. We could continue to go to church with bagages in our lives, treating the people who have hurt us, indifferently , being civil but remaining the walls, trying to protect themselves from being hurt again. What we do not realize is if we continue with this behavior, it becomes a habit, a pattern, that along the future we won’t realize has become a stronghold of the devil keeping us from deeper loving relationships with one another.
Our only hope is to trust that God has a purpose for everything. That he is the Healer of our souls. If we repent and acknowledge that we need His help to forgive our enemies there will be restoration of relationships. These relationships will then grow deeper because God always works through us. Nobody is perfect. We cannot always assume that the person we rely on is always there. Only God can give that comfort.
